Now that you’ve taken your Pulse Pressure, you might like to know a few things about it.
The ideal Pulse Pressure for the average adult is 40. You’ll find your pulse pressure by subtracting your diastolic blood pressure (bottom number) from the systolic blood pressure (top number). Just as 120/80 is considered ideal blood pressure, the ideal pulse pressure would be as mentioned above. It’s best to take this in recumbent (lying down) position.
Measuring your pulse pressure in this manner may help your doctor predict if you’re at risk for a heart event, including a heart attack or stroke. If your pulse pressure is greater than 60 it’s considered a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, especially if you’re over the age of 60. It’s a telling indicator of arterial stiffening and is likely linked to atherosclerosis.
A high resting pulse pressure is harmful and tends to accelerate the normal aging of body organs, particularly the heart, brain, and kidneys.
Kim’s Favorite Heart Smart Supps
My favorite ‘Heart Smart Supps’ are Standard Process Cardio Plus and Standard Process Cyruta Plus, both important to blood vessel health, which in turn affects the blood pressure.
MediHerb Adrenal Tonic Phytosynergist would address the needs of both the Adrenals and Kidneys. More detail to come on all three products later.
Be Heart Smart and your body will thank you!
