Using Standard Process and MediHerb Topically

When we talk about “using herbs,” it’s often in the context of tea or food, or in Medi Herb’s case- making our own liquid concoctions into our favorite herbal tonics! The same plant chemicals that boost health after they’ve been ingested will also support the body from the outside.

Think of the body as a fortress. The skin, the largest organ of the body, is designed to keep invaders out of your fortress. If the fortress is “breached” by injury or trauma, herbs can help to repair it gently and effectively. They are an affordable, easy first aid. Using herbs topically is easy and effective, and even safer than consuming them because there’s no possibility of interference with medications. Love your skin by caring for it with non-toxic, organic products, and herbal remedies you make yourself. Here’s one of my favorite ways:

Kim’s Skin Vibrancy tonic:

  • 16 oz bottle of Witch Hazel
  • MediHerb Gotu Kola 1:1 liquid extract (M7060)
  • MediHerb Nettle Leaf 1:2 liquid extract (M7260)
  • Standard Process EZ Mg (bag of 30 packets 3935)

Remove ¼ cup of Witch hazel and save for later. Add 2 tablespoons each of Gotu Kola and Nettle Leaf. Add 2 packets Standard Process EZ Mg. There’s probably enough room to pour a little of the witch hazel back in. I use this on a cotton ball after washing my face twice daily. My skin is happier for it.

This will make up several bottles of Skin tonic. You may want to use the rest for making up gifts that are coming to your office.

Your go-to Standard Process/ MediHerb liquids to add to Witch hazel for an all-over ‘skin-loving’ tonic should include:

SP EZ Mg

If you don’t like the taste of the powder-add it to your tonic. It’s my #1 of a great Vitamin C serum with all of the other added benefits. You can also wash your face or use it as a mask.

MediHerb Gotu Kola 1:1

My favorite anti-aging herb. Most excellent for speedy healing and scars/adhesions. I use it in my tonic, but also full strength on my skin.

MediHerb Nettle Leaf 1:2

One of the absolute best sources of bioavailable silica- great for the skin and hair!

using echinacea topically

MediHerb Echinacea Premium 1:2 or Echinacea Purpurea 1:2

Kerry Bone mentioned in his first webinar last Thursday that Echinacea applied topically is excellent for atopic dermatitis and eczema. Very cool!

using Calendula topically

MediHerb Calendula 1:2

Has a classic use for wound healing, soothing eczema and relieving diaper rash!

Incorporating herbs topically can be a wonderful way to support your body’s natural healing process. By caring for your skin with non-toxic, organic products and homemade herbal remedies, you can provide gentle and effective first aid when needed. Remember, your skin is the largest organ, and protecting it is essential. If you have any questions or need further guidance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Here’s to self-preening that’s great for you and easy,
